A word from our president Janet Colliton
As the new President of the West Chester Sunrise Rotary Club I have been blessed to have traveled with Rotary for the past 30+ years and my daughter, Alisa has been with me for the last 20. For those who do not know Rotary, you are missing an experience of a lifetime.
For those who think you do know, the message is “This is not your grandfather’s Rotary!” Or maybe, as practiced by the Sunrise Club it is – if your grandfather rappelled down tall office buildings in Philadelphia to raise funds for Philadelphia Outward Bound or volunteered at the West Chester Annual Challenge for Cancer Bike Tour directing cyclists or flipping burgers, or travelled to South and Central America and Vietnam to donate their specialized services in medical, surgical and audiology skills as some members have been doing. Sunrise members who stay closer to home might volunteer at our core commitment, the West Chester Food Cupboard, or plant trees, or help set up our annual Souper Bowl with participating restaurants and coordinate with another Rotary club.
Our Greater West Chester Sunrise Rotary is service – both international and local – plus fun and fellowship and friendships. Rotary’s goal to wipe out polio worldwide is almost complete. Will you join us?
